Used Matheson Gas Products 8272-0412 Mass Flow Transducer - 100 SCCM for Air

The Matheson 8272-0412 is a precision mass flow transducer designed for accurate measurement and control of air flow rates up to 100 standard cubic centimeters per minute (SCCM). Built by Matheson Gas Products, a long-established name in gas handling and instrumentation, this transducer supports laboratory, industrial, and process control applications requiring stable gas flow monitoring.

Matheson's heritage in specialty gas systems dates back to the early 20th century, when the company became synonymous with precise gas measurement and delivery equipment. The 8272 series exemplifies that legacy—robust, accurate, and engineered for repeatability in controlled environments.

Product Condition

Used, in very good cosmetic condition with minimal signs of previous handling. Minor surface marks are present, but no significant wear. The unit appears well maintained and clean, with intact fittings and housing.

Product Overview

This mass flow transducer measures gas flow based on differential pressure and thermal response within the sensor body. Calibrated for air, it delivers analog output proportional to flow rate, suitable for integration with Matheson or third-party flow controllers. The rugged stainless-steel housing and precision electronics provide durability in research and process settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this unit calibrated?

Calibration status is unknown. The unit is offered as-is and may require recalibration prior to use in critical applications.

What gas is it configured for?

This model is calibrated for air and specified for 0-100 SCCM flow rate.

Can it be used with other gases?

Yes, with appropriate correction factors or recalibration. Matheson can provide conversion data for compatible gases.

What is the power or signal output?

It provides an analog output signal proportional to flow, typically 0-5 VDC or 4-20 mA depending on configuration.

Is this compatible with other flow controllers?

Yes. The 8272-0412 can interface with many analog flow controllers or readout modules designed for mass flow transducers.

Built for precision and stability, this Matheson transducer once measured air by the cubic centimeter—now waiting for its next role in a lab, system, or experiment that values exactness.
