Product Description

The ABB thql1115pdx is a 15-amp, 1-pole Dual Function Circuit Interrupter (DFCI) designed for residential branch circuit protection. It combines AFCI and GFCI protection in a single plug-on neutral breaker, guarding against overloads, short circuits, arc faults, and 5 mA ground faults. Rated at 120/240 VAC with a 10 kAIC interrupt rating, the thql1115pdx uses ABB adaptive machine-learning arc fault technology to distinguish genuine fault events from normal load behavior, reducing nuisance trips without sacrificing protection. It installs via plug-in mounting with plug-on neutral connection, eliminating the need for a separate neutral pigtail wire.

This breaker is intended for residential branch circuit applications where NEC 2026 dual-function protection requirements apply, including bedrooms, living areas, kitchens, and other spaces mandating combined AFCI and GFCI coverage. It is designed for use in ABB ReliaHome ELITE load centers that support plug-on neutral breakers. Licensed electricians performing panel work, circuit additions, or breaker replacements in residential construction and renovation projects are the primary installers.

Key Features

Combined AFCI and GFCI protection in one breaker, meeting dual-function circuit interrupter (DFCI) requirements
5 mA ground fault trip level for personnel protection
Plug-On Neutral connection eliminates neutral pigtail, simplifying panel wiring
Adaptive machine-learning arc fault detection reduces nuisance tripping
10 kAIC interrupt rating for residential service levels
Compliant with NEC 2026 AFCI and GFCI requirements for residential branch circuits

Compatibility

Designed for use in ABB ReliaHome ELITE load centers that support plug-on neutral, plug-in style breakers. Verify load center compatibility before installation.

Installation Notes

Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the panel and verify the absence of voltage with a properly rated meter before handling any breaker or bus connection. Plug-on neutral breakers require a compatible load center neutral bar — confirm bus compatibility before seating the breaker. Do not force the neutral clip onto an incompatible bar, as improper seating can result in a failed neutral connection.
