Product Description

The USD PRODUCTS 62-4-LF is a 1/4-inch brass compression union designed to join two lengths of tubing in a straight run without soldering or threading. The union uses compression fittings on both ends to create a leak-resistant, mechanically secure connection. It is a common component in refrigeration lines, HVAC equipment connections, potable water distribution, and pneumatic control tubing. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics install this type of fitting during new construction and service repairs where a reusable, tool-free joint is needed.

This fitting is suited for 1/4-inch OD tubing applications in both residential and light commercial settings. Typical install scenarios include connecting copper or compatible soft tubing runs in tight spaces where a union allows the line to be disconnected and reassembled without cutting. The lead-free designation makes it appropriate for potable water service where lead-free compliance is required by plumbing codes.

Key Features

1/4-inch compression connection on both ends for straight tubing unions
Brass construction provides corrosion resistance and durability in wet and high-humidity environments
Lead-free (LF) designation meets requirements for potable water applications
No-solder, no-thread installation reduces labor time and required tools
Reusable fitting allows line disconnection and reassembly without replacing the fitting

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1/4-inch OD copper and compatible soft tubing compression connections in HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians. Shut off the water supply or depressurize the line before making or breaking the connection. Ensure tubing ends are cut square and deburred before inserting into the compression nut to achieve a proper seal. Follow all applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements for lead-free fittings in potable water service.
