Product Description

The ARIENS 7229500 is a 4L-series wrapped V-belt designed for use in Ariens lawn and garden power equipment. The wrapped construction means the belt cord is fully enclosed in a fabric cover, which resists heat, oil, and abrasion while maintaining flexibility under load. This belt transmits rotational power between pulleys in the drivetrain, connecting engine output to blade spindles, ground drive systems, or auxiliary attachments depending on the specific machine. Installation is typically performed by a small-engine technician or a knowledgeable equipment owner during seasonal maintenance or as a replacement after belt wear or failure.

This belt is intended for Ariens lawn and garden equipment that specifies the 4L cross-section profile in its drivetrain. The 4L designation indicates a fractional-horsepower wrapped belt with a top width of approximately 0.5 inches and an angle of 40 degrees, commonly used in residential riding mowers, zero-turn mowers, walk-behind units, and related outdoor power equipment. Consult the original equipment service manual or parts diagram to confirm fitment before installation.

Key Features

4L-series cross-section profile for compatibility with standard fractional-horsepower pulley grooves
Wrapped construction provides a fabric-covered outer surface that resists heat, oil, and sidewall wear
Designed for drivetrain power transmission in Ariens lawn and garden equipment
OEM part number 7229500 ensures direct-fit replacement with no modification required

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement V-belt for Ariens lawn and garden equipment specifying the 4L wrapped belt profile in the drivetrain. Refer to the equipment parts diagram or service manual to confirm this part number is correct for the specific model before ordering.

Installation Notes

Belt replacement on lawn and garden equipment should be performed with the ignition off, the spark plug wire disconnected, and all blades and moving components at a complete stop. A small-engine technician typically handles this work, though experienced equipment owners can perform the replacement using common hand tools. Route the new belt exactly as shown in the equipment service manual or belt routing diagram to ensure correct tension and pulley alignment. Inspect all pulleys and idler arms for wear or damage before installing the new belt.
