Product Description

The BRIGGS STRATTON 45-260 is a ball bearing designed as a direct replacement component for Briggs Stratton small engine applications. Ball bearings in small engines reduce rotational friction at shaft and crankshaft support points, allowing moving components to spin freely under load. This part carries the OEM cross-reference designation Magnum 99502H, making it straightforward to confirm fitment against existing service records or engine data tags. Installation is typically performed by small engine technicians and experienced power equipment service professionals during routine maintenance or rebuilds.

The 45-260 ball bearing is used in Briggs Stratton small engines found in lawn and garden power equipment, including walk-behind mowers, riding tractors, and related outdoor power units. Service intervals that require bearing replacement include situations where noise, roughness, or play is detected during shaft rotation inspection. Confirming the engine model and type numbers from the engine shroud data plate is the correct method for verifying fitment before installation.

Key Features

OEM Briggs Stratton replacement ball bearing
Cross-references to Magnum 99502H for service verification
Designed to reduce rotational friction at engine shaft support points
Direct-fit replacement suitable for small engine rebuilds and maintenance

Compatibility

Cross-references to Magnum 99502H as noted in Briggs Stratton parts documentation. Confirm fitment using the engine model, type, and code numbers stamped on the engine data plate before installation.

Installation Notes

Bearing replacement should be performed by a qualified small engine technician. Disconnect the spark plug wire and ensure the engine is fully cooled before beginning disassembly. A bearing driver or press is typically required to properly seat the bearing without damaging the race. Do not strike the bearing directly with a hammer, as this can damage the bearing and the housing bore.
