Product Description

The WHIRLPOOL wp8535083 is a genuine OEM middle spray arm designed for use in Whirlpool dishwashers. The spray arm rotates during the wash cycle to distribute water across the middle rack, rinsing dishes and cookware loaded in that zone. This is a direct factory replacement part, meaning it matches the original component in material, fit, and function. Technicians and experienced DIYers reach for OEM components like this when a worn, cracked, or clogged spray arm is causing poor wash performance or incomplete rinsing on the middle level of the dishwasher.

This part is intended for residential dishwasher repair. A middle spray arm typically shows wear through cracking, warping, or blocked spray nozzles that reduce water distribution. When wash results decline on the middle rack despite normal water pressure and detergent use, the spray arm is a common first component to inspect and replace. Install this part when the original arm is physically damaged or when nozzle blockages cannot be cleared through standard cleaning.

Installation Notes

This part is typically installed by an appliance repair technician or a qualified DIYer comfortable with dishwasher disassembly. Before beginning, disconnect the dishwasher from electrical power at the breaker or by unplugging the unit. The middle spray arm generally attaches to a central hub or feed tube on the middle rack assembly and can often be removed and reinstalled without tools by hand-turning a retaining nut or clip. Consult the appliance owner's manual for model-specific disassembly steps and always confirm the water supply is off before accessing internal components.
