Product Description

The RECTORSEAL df12143 is a platform-style media air cleaner designed for vertical, bottom air-return installations in residential and light commercial forced-air systems. It combines air filtration with a built-in 90-degree transition to the furnace or air handler, reducing the number of components needed in tight mechanical spaces. The 28x40 inch footprint makes it a practical solution where conventional filter cabinets or separate transition fittings would consume too much floor space. HVAC technicians install this unit during new construction or retrofit work on upflow and side-return air handler setups.

The df12143 is suited for upflow furnace and air handler installations that require both a filter housing and a supply-to-return transition in a single assembly. It fits vertical, bottom air-return configurations where space is limited and a combined filtration and duct-transition solution simplifies the rough-in. It is commonly installed in residential applications where the air handler sits on a platform above the return-air plenum.

Key Features

Integrated 90-degree transition eliminates a separate fitting in the duct system
28x40 inch platform footprint accommodates common air handler base sizes
Designed specifically for vertical, bottom air-return and upflow system configurations
Space-saving design reduces installation time on side-drop and upflow applications
Accepts media-style filtration for improved particulate capture versus standard flat filters

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style platform media air cleaner for vertical bottom air-return, upflow, and side-drop forced-air furnace and air handler installations requiring integrated filtration and duct transition.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Power to the air handler or furnace must be shut off at the disconnect before any work begins. Verify that the platform dimensions align with the air handler base and the return-air opening before securing the unit. Follow local mechanical codes and manufacturer clearance requirements for the connected equipment.
